This September 25–27, Eagle Spirits of the Great Waters will be holding their 6th Annual Gathering & Healing Weekend at the Small Arms Inspection Building in Mississauga.
As someone who descends from the Indigenous peoples of North America, this is something that has personal meaning to me. Our Indigenous cultures, histories and traditions are an important part of the story of this land, and I believe one of the best ways to understand one another is to come together, listen, learn and experience those traditions firsthand.
I want to personally encourage everyone in Ward 2 and across Mississauga to come out and see what it’s all about.
You don’t need to be Indigenous to participate, learn or show your support. Everyone is welcome.
The weekend will honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day while celebrating Indigenous arts, culture, community, gathering and healing.
