Cost of Living: Making Mississauga More Affordable

Cost of Living: Making Mississauga More Affordable

Families across Mississauga are feeling financial pressure. From housing and property taxes to transportation and everyday expenses, affordability has become a major concern.

While City Council cannot control inflation, grocery prices, or mortgage rates, it can control how municipal tax dollars are spent and make decisions that influence the cost of living.

My approach starts with responsible spending.

With nearly a decade of experience analyzing financial statements, identifying waste, and improving profitability in the automotive industry, I understand the importance of examining expenses before asking for additional revenue.

As Ward 2 City Councillor, I would focus on reviewing municipal spending, improving procurement practices, strengthening financial oversight, and ensuring major projects remain accountable to taxpayers.

I would also work to reduce unnecessary administrative barriers for local businesses, improve transportation efficiency, and support responsible housing development that considers infrastructure capacity and neighbourhood needs.

Affordability should never mean simply cutting essential services. Residents still deserve safe roads, maintained parks, reliable snow clearing, and responsive municipal services.

The goal is to deliver these services efficiently while identifying opportunities to reduce unnecessary costs.

I also believe residents deserve transparency about where their tax dollars go, why costs are increasing, and what steps City Hall is taking to control them.

Making Mississauga more affordable requires careful planning, financial discipline, and a willingness to question how things have always been done.

My commitment is to examine spending first, demand measurable results, and ensure residents receive value for every municipal tax dollar.
